Direct View LED

Direct View LED (DV-LED, DvLED) technology uses individual LEDs that illuminate in different colours to form an image, with each LED effectively acting as a pixel. Our range of DV-LED solutions utilises surface-mounted device (SMD) technology, combining red, green, and blue micro-LEDs so that each pixel can produce a full spectrum of colour. These displays feature a modular design, allowing them to be tailored to fit virtually any space.

Pixel pitch

Pixel pitch refers to the distance between the centers of two adjacent pixels, typically measured in millimeters, and directly impacts the display's resolution and viewing distance. A smaller pixel pitch means higher pixel density, resulting in sharper image quality and better viewing experiences, especially at closer distances. The main benefits include improved visual clarity, seamless integration for large-scale displays, and suitability for applications like digital signage and professional presentations where detail and precision are critical.

IP rating

The most common IP ratings for commercial outdoor advertising screens are IP65, IP66, and IP67, indicating protection against dust and water. IP65 ensures resistance to dust and low-pressure water jets, making it suitable for general outdoor use, while IP66 offers higher protection against strong water jets, ideal for harsher weather conditions. IP67 provides complete dust protection and temporary immersion resistance, ensuring durability in extreme environments, making IP ratings crucial for reliable and long-lasting outdoor LED displays.
Outdoor LED screens need high brightness (5,000-10,000 nits) to stay visible in daylight, along with IP65+ weather resistance to withstand the UK’s unpredictable climate. We provide durable, weatherproof screens suitable for high streets, retail parks, sports venues, and outdoor events.
LED screens are energy-efficient, but power usage varies depending on size, brightness, and operating hours. A standard UK consumer power supply at 230 volts AC with a frequency of 50 Hz is required to drive the LED screens. Indoor LED Screens typically consume between 100 to 300 watts per square meter. Outdoor LED screens, due to higher brightness requirements, generally consume between 300 to 700 watts per square meter. We provide full guidance on power requirements and efficient operation to help minimise running costs, which is especially important given UK energy prices.
LED screens are far more efficient than traditional signage, using up to 50% less power than older display technologies. Power consumption depends on size and brightness, but we can help you choose the most cost-effective setup to reduce electricity costs.
